Optical Control Method for Additive CNC Machines

At present, technologies of layer-by-layer building up of material - additive technologies - have become widespread in various industries. Despite the fact that these technologies have been actively developing over the past decades, some areas of additive technologies have a number of problems that reduce the quality of the final product or increase the debugging time of the technological process and manufacturing.This article discusses the problem of adhesion of the first layer of the manufactured part to the base platform in the production of parts by additive methods. As a solution to the problem, this article discusses a method for upgrading the control system of an additive CNC machine tool by introducing a feedback channel based on optical sensors. The adhesion control of the first layer of the manufactured product, as well as timely notification of the loss of adhesion between the table and the product, will significantly reduce the time for debugging the program controllers and reduce the reject rate.
