Automation of the Tower Allocation Process of an Electric Power Transmission System

In this paper, a program capable of performing the automatic allocation of towers of an electrical energy transmission system, given a topographic profile, is presented. The code utilizes a GENETIC ALGORITHM (GA) as an optimization tool within the MATLAB software. Three genetic operators are used to obtain individuals: Reproduction, Crossover and Mutation. The fitness function evaluates the data related to the components and restrictions of the TRANSMISSION LINE (TL) to estimate the total cost that will serve as a selection parameter when applied in the GA.
