Computer Simulation System for Controlling the Polymerization Process in the Production of Synthetic Latex

The article presents the structure of a computer system that allows, based on a library of mathematical models, to solve the problem of controlling the process of emulsion polymerization in the production of synthetic latexes. The computer system makes it possible to study the structure of chemical transformations in various polymerization methods; to investigate the nature of the kinetics of the process (the ratio of the degree of monomer conversion by apparatus, temperature distribution in reactors); to predict the qualitative characteristics of the resulting latex (viscosity, plasticity, surface tension, acidity). The conducted testing of the computer system according to the data of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NIISK” (Voronezh) confirmed its operability and the possibility of using it in the production of butadiene-nitrile, heteropolymer and carboxyl-containing latexes.
