Modelling and Control of Three Phase Induction Machine Under Open Phase Fault

This paper deals with the modelling and control of three phase induction machine under open phase fault. A modified set of stator transformations are introduced to model the machine under open phase fault. The model is used to derive the system dynamic equations under single phasing operation. These along with the system dynamic equations in the pre-fault and post-fault modes of operation form the transient model of the machine under fault. The transient and steady state performance of a prescribed control method under fault is evaluated using this model in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The results obtained and their physical implications are discussed.
