Elasticity Measurement of Radial Arterial Wall Considering Vessel Shape Change Caused by Pushing Pressure Applied by Ultrasonic Probe

Recently, we proposed a series of equations to estimate elasticity considering the changes in the cross-section shape of the artery from circle to ellipse. In the present study, the proposed method was applied to in vivo measurements to demonstrate that the elasticity can be estimated stably regardless of the strength of the pressing pressure. The estimated elasticity by the conventional method decreased with the stronger pressure, while that by the proposed method was almost constant.
