Intelligent CFAR detector against interference of multiple targets

To improve the capacity of the detector against interference of multiple targets, an intelligent distributed fuzzy detector is proposed in this paper. The minimum description length criterion and the adaptive fuzzy CMLD-CFAR detector are used to devise the detector, which can estimate the number of interfering targets accurately and select an optimal detection threshold. Under the assumption of Swerling II target and Gaussian background, the detection performance of the new detector is analyzed by resorting to Monte Carlo simulation. The findings demonstrate that the suggested detector outperforms the distributed fuzzy OS-CFAR, particularly when there is inadequate prior knowledge of the number of interfering targets.
