A Non-Isolated Integrated Single-Stage Single-Switch Rectifier System for LED Application

A light-emitting diode works on a constant current utility, and the circuit driving the load is known as the LED driver circuit. There are various driver topologies, namely a single stage, two stages, or an integrated stage topology. The involvement of a conventional bridge rectifier in all these LED drivers introduces much distortion and injects a harmonic to the input side, thus deviating from a sound power factor system for a LED load. This paper presents a modified first-stage rectifier connected to a power factor correction (PFC) CUK converter. The proposed AC-DC system follows the stringent IEC61000-3-2 standards for class C load. With the K factor control method, the small signal and PWM switch modeling are also presented to find the stability to achieve the desired phase and gain margin(PK, GM). A 60V/36W hardware setup is proposed to validate the simulation results.
