Automatic Monitoring and Fault Identification of Photovoltaic System by Wireless Sensors

An automatic system with advanced sensor suitable for measuring real-time operations of voltage, current, faults and degradation of photovoltaic panels connected in strings are designed. Fault analysis in solar photovoltaic (PV) assembling is a vital strategy in PV systems and, if not, in PV systems to improve reliability, performance, and safety. Detected, not only can decrease electricity production and efficient systeming, and can affect the entire system's functionality. The fault detection can be assessed by assigning a standard and a fault tolerance within each fault. An efficient wireless communication and an energy supply segment focused on energy harvesting, no additional cables are required. A complete experimental analysis is being carried out for continuous monitoring of PV systems in order to verify the sensor's stability and use. The ability to detect faults in a PV string and correctly localise malfunctioning panels is highlighted.
