Non-invasive PD measurement method in air-insulated switchgear - signal processing

The article contains the results of partial discharges (PD) measurements of several types (high potential, low potential) of Medium Voltage (MV) air-insulated switchgear. For this purpose, Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) sensors and High Frequency Current Transformer (HFCT) were used. The obtained signal was processed by wavelet transform in Wavelet Signal Denoiser MATLAB build-in application. The result will be a further point in the research - collecting data from real PD measurement objects, proper classification using artificial intelligence and finally create cheap universal sensor for long-term online monitoring.
