Vibration Performance Analysis of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with Modular Winding

This paper analyses the vibration performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor with modular winding, which is a type of non-overlapping winding and the pole and slot number combination is z=2p±2. Firstly, the distribution characteristic of modular winding is explained clearly and several motors are designed for vibration performance analysis. After that, the lowest non-zero spatial order electromagnetic force density under load condition is inferred by the air gap magnetic flux density with the Maxwell stress theory. Then according to the distribution characteristics of modular winding, the stator deformation induced by the vibration superposition or lessening effect is simulated. At last, the 3-D harmonic response analysis and a vibration experiment are employed for evaluating the vibration performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor with modular winding. The proposed theory is useful for improving the vibration performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor by choosing modular winding with appropriate pole and slot number combination.
