Fiber optic sensor for temperature and transverse load measurement based on the MZI and FPI hybrid interferometers

A hybrid interferometer sensor for temperature and transverse load sensing is presented in this paper. Experimental results show that the temperature sensitivity is 67
$\mathbf{pm}/^{\circ}\mathbf{C}$
in the range of 30–70
${}^{\circ}\mathbf{C}$
, and the transverse load sensitivity is 839.5 pm/N in the range of 0-3.92 N. The sensor has the advantages of good robustness, easy to fabricate, and low cost.
