Terahertz Meta-surface Sensor with Various Refractive Indexes Based on EIT-like Effect

A terahertz meta-surface sensor with various refractive indexes based on electromagnetically induced transparency-like (EIT-like) is designed in this paper. The meta-surface unit is composed of a square ring and a circular ring, performing a significant transmission peak at 0.822 THz. After simulation analysis and data fitting, it is calculated that the detection sensitivity for refractive index is about 200 GHz/RIU. The results show that the meta-surface based on EIT-like designed in this paper have high sensitivity to different refractive index covers, which provides a certain reference for the research of metamaterial refractive index sensor in the future.
