Single-shot terahertz waveform stamping on ultrashort electron bunch

In this study, the real-time terahertz oscilloscope by using the relativistic electron stamping technique with a metal slit structure is introduced. We found the unique condition of subwavelength metal slit waveguide for preserving the distortion-free terahertz waveform during its propagation. As a proof-of-concept experiment, we successfully demonstrated to capture the entire filed oscillation of a terahertz pulse with a sampling rate of 75.7 TS/s.
