Optimal Energy Management System for Hybrid Residential Microgrids

Energy management and optimization of micro-grid system is an ongoing area of research and development. Microgrid along with an energy management system enhances the efficiency and ensures that the demand is always met with the generation of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). The entire operational cost of such a system is relatively large, and optimization guarantees that the total operational costs are minimized. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is used as the optimization technique to find the optimal size of the DERs. Honey Badger Algorithm (HBA) is also used to validate the results obtained. The results of both optimization techniques are compared and analyzed with respect to the system.
