Vehicle electromagnetic interference suppression using characteristic mode analysis

This paper proposed to suppress the vehicle electromagnetic interference (EMI) emission by exploring the characteristic mode analysis (CMA) on the vehicle body. We calculated the characteristic modes of the vehicle body and eigen-current using the CMA method. The optimal position range of the DC/DC module, where the EMI emission could be suppressing significantly, could be obtained based on the characteristic modes and eigen-currents. Simulation results show the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method for vehicle EMI mitigation.
