Inductively Coupled In-Circuit Impedance Measurement Under Low Signal-to-Noise Ratio

The in-circuit impedance stands as a key factor for assessing the operating status and health condition of electrical assets. The inductive coupling approach is an effective way of measuring the in-circuit impedance of an electrical system due to its non-contact nature and simplicity of on-site implementation. This paper investigates the impact of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions on the measurement accuracy using the recently developed single-probe measurement setup of the inductive coupling approach. Further this study suggests an effective way to improve measurement accuracy under low SNR conditions.
