Reconfigurable Two Port Antenna With Dual Polarization Based on Liquid Metal Switching Device

In this article, we present a novel reconfigurable two port antenna with dual polarization based on liquid metal switching device. Two microfluidic channels are embedded on the antenna feedline. First, liquid metal connects the port 1 to main patch that covers application frequency bands (2.7-4.4 GHz). In the second step, liquid metal connects the port 2 to main patch that covers application frequency bands (2.6-5.6 GHz) with dual polarization is proposed. The simulated results show the two polarizations (linear & circular) at 3 GHz in two modes of proposed antenna that is suitable for wireless systems. and control of liquid metal is performed electrochemically on the microfluidic channel.
