Energy Harvesting For IoT Applications

Irrefutably, most of the IoT devices are energized through batteries. Owing to the restricted operating life of batteries, this is the need of hour to have IoT device which can get the power from device itself or there should be some alternative energy source which can continuously feed power to the IoT devices. As an alternative source, various energy harvesters are being used to power up the ample of IoT devices. Energy harvesters utilize some renewable resource of energy to produce the desired amount of DC output voltage to further feed to IoT devices. Therefore, the significance of energy harvesters for IoT applications is presented in this article. Starting with the demand of energy harvesters and their design, this article also presents the comparison and requirements of various energy harvesting systems for applications in IoT devices.
