A Duty-Cycle Based Scheduling Algorithm for Energy Efficient e-Health System

In the last few years, the environment around us has evolved into an almost IoT-based environment. IoT has an effect in each sector, from medical services to industry. IoT devices are sensor-based, the sensor nodes rely vigorously on batteries for power supply. Thus, energy efficiency plays a significant role in such devices. High power-consuming devices reduce battery life. In this paper, we propose a duty-cycle based scheduling algorithm where the sensors are turned ON as per their requirement, and for the rest of the time, they are kept in OFF state. Framework results show that the scheduled algorithm can further improve battery lifetime.
