CNN Based Intelligent Traffic Control System to Support Emergency Vehicles

Efficient traffic control routing methods has been a top priority of government and startups. With the immediate surge in vehicle density on Indian roads, this has turned out to be an immediate need of the world, especially for high priority vehicles like Ambulances and Firetrucks for whom each second counts. The existing approaches either turn out to be a failure under harsh traffic conditions or malfunction under high vehicle density scenarios. This paper aims at developing a device as a support system for Emergency Vehicles by making way for passage of high priority vehicles by changing the signal by detecting the presence of an emergency vehicle (Ambulance or Firetruck) using Machine Learning techniques. The proposed system recommends an automated system wherein our ML Engine automatically sends a signal to enable the signal and provide a path for movement of emergency vehicles.
