Effect of Interface Thickness on Tuning Dielectric Properties of PVDF-TiO₂ Nanodielectrics

This work aims to emphasize the effect of the polymer-nanoparticle interface thickness on the frequency dependent dielectric response of a nanodielectric made of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) filled with TiO
2
nanoparticles. The extraction of the interface dielectric properties is based on a numerical method we successfully tested on other nanodielectrics. This method uses the experimental results obtained by dielectric spectroscopy. The numerical results show that the increase of the polymer-nanoparticle interface thickness leads to an increase of the real permittivity of PVDF-TiO
2
nanodielectric without increasing the imaginary permittivity for frequencies higher than about 10 Hz.
