A method to improve plant health monitoring accuracy by removing specular reflection

Vegetation remote sensing monitoring is often disturbed by the specular reflection of leaves, which reduces the inversion accuracy of chlorophyll content. This paper aims to eliminate the specular reflection interference in remote sensing monitoring of plant health status, and proposes a specular reflection removal index (SRRI) to eliminate the interference of plant specular reflection and improve the detection accuracy of plant health status. Relative Chlorophyll content (SPAD), Simple ratio index (SR), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), SRRISR and SRRINDVI were correlation analyzed to understand their ability to eliminate specular reflection interference. The results show that SR and NDVI had the highest sensitivity to specular reflection.

has a good correlation, which highlights the potential of SRRI in eliminating specular reflection interference and detecting plant health status. In summary, this method can effectively eliminate specular interference and improve the detection accuracy of vegetation health status.
