Formation of low-cycle femtosecond pulses from radiation of a sub-ps ytterbium laser

A laser system has been developed for generating low-cycle femtosecond pulses with a central wavelength of 910 nm (or 2100 nm), a duration of several field oscillations with a kilohertz pulse repetition rate. The main advantage of the original approach is the optical synchronization of fs pulses with pump laser radiation.
