Speed Control System of Stepping Motor Based on BP Neural Network PID

Stepper motors are electromechanical actuators that convert electrical pulse signals into angular displacements. Their inputs are pulse sequences and their outputs are corresponding angular or linear increments. Stepper motors are widely used in printers, fax machines, surveillance cameras, lighting devices, robots, medical devices and other products. In this paper, the stepper motor speed transfer function equation is derived for the speed control of the stepper motor, and a closed-loop control system of stepper motor based on BP neural network PID algorithm is proposed [1]–[4]. The feasibility and accuracy of the control system were tested by MATLAB simulation and related experiments. The experimental results show that the scheme is more accurate, adaptable and robust compared with the traditional PID control system [5]–[6]. This research result has a certain reference value for the design of speed control system for stepper motor related products.
