An LBT Scheme with Adaptive Freezetime for LAA Outdoor Scenario

Considering the increasing number of the internet and mobile users, Long Term Evolution (LTE) is being extended to unlicensed band of 5 GHz. Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) is one of the techniques required in many countries for LTE to use the unlicensed band. This paper proposes a scheme for outdoor scenario by adding adaptive freezetime to the LBT. The scheme is evaluated against LBT and WiFi-WiFi scenario. The improved throughput is observed for high, medium and low dense scenarios. The delay is reduced in proposed scheme as compared to LBT for different levels of user densities.
