Investigation of Q Factor of the QCM Resonator Under Overtone Modes

The quality (Q) factor is one of crucial parameter to the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) resonator. However, there is few studies to report the Q-factor of QCM resonator when it works at overtone modes. Therefore, it is a key value to investigate the Q-factor of the QCM resonator working at overtone modes. Herein, we calculate the Q-factor when the resonator working at 3, 5, 7, 9 overtone modes. The experimental results show that the overtone Q factor of all measured QCMs is larger than 10

, and all half bandwidth is less than 2600 Hz. It means that the stability of QCM resonator working at overtone modes is high.
