Three-Phase to Six-Phase (Asymmetrical Double Star) Transformer

This letter discloses two novel connection schemes of asymmetrical dual star transformer winding (i.e., asymmetrical six-phase transformer) with separate neutral points. The proposed transformer connection operates to transform three-phase input supply on primary to two sets of balanced three-phase on secondary, which are asymmetrical in nature (i.e., asymmetrical six-phase supply with separate neutrals) and vice-versa. Complete connection scheme with associated phasor diagram are presented, and experimental real-time results are provided to support the findings.
