Smart Pill Notification Device Using Arduino

Many healthcare patients are required to be assisted residential facilities because they cannot manage complex drug modalities without active support from nurses. This system proposes an Arduino based pill notification design. This helps the patient to take the medication properly and within mentioned time. However present, only 2 in 50 patients use assistive methodology due to increase of cost, availability, and no proper knowledge on subject. Every 12 out of 20 families require 1 aid, many elderly people will need two or more. The attention toward work increases compared to health, which can happen to many of the people lifestyle. To reduce this type of negligence towards health, a system is developed in this paper to help the people for reminding to have their medicine on time. The designed system is works on both physical reminders and digital reminders for patients, which is useful for all ages of people and also specially for geriatric patients to take their pills. The designed system utilizes real time clock (RTC) module, LCD display, Arduino, buzzer system to intimidate the patient by taking the exact dose as prescribed at the mentioned time. Portable and affordable system supports elderly patients, mainly the illiterate has been designed which helps to take their medicine at proper time.
