A proposal for an evacuation route recommendation method based on multi-objective GA considering the acceptability of evacuees

The efficiency of evacuation requires to be further improved to protect the lives of more evacuees when an earthquake occurs. An evacuation route planning system based on computer technology is one of the methods used to achieve efficiency. Although several systems can recommend efficient evacuation routes with shorter evacuation time, few consider the acceptability of evacuees. In addition to the evacuation time, psychological factors need to be considered. Therefore, in this study, a scheme that considers the psychological elements of evacuees is proposed based on a multi-objective GA. By inputting different start points, end points, and parameters, the evacuation routes satisfying different purposes can be output. Subsequently, the convergence and diversity of the system were analyzed. In addition, the results of the experiment conducted to investigate whether the evacuees can notice the differences in the system output were presented.
