Leadership Behavior and Sustainable Leadership among Higher Education Institutions of Pakistan

The study indents to analyze the impact of three kinds of leadership behaviors over sustainable leadership among the higher education institutions of Pakistan. Sustainable leadership is a major issue especially for the higher education institutions of Pakistan, because of family ownerships and family governance of the private sector institutions. The leadership behavior is highly diversified, therefore, identification of the leadership behaviors, based on reviewed literature, that may have a significant positive influence over the sustainable leadership have been taken. The developed model is based on three leadership behaviors, i.e., visionary leadership, team-oriented leadership, and servant leadership which have been measured using adopted questionnaires, responded by the faculty and administrative staff of the private sector universities of Pakistan. The respondents for data collection were chosen through simple random sampling, and lists were gathered form the websites of the private sector universities of Pakistan. The findings, through Partial Least Square, identified that all the three behaviors have a significant impact over 10% level of significance, however, at 5% level of significance only visionary leadership is significant, whereas team oriented, and servant leadership become insignificant. The findings are important for academicians as well as the policy makers to understand the required behaviors for the development of sustainable leadership for the betterment and sustainability of policies.
