Optimal Transmission Expansion Planning Considering Demand Response Characteristics of Load Duration Curve

This paper proposes a demand response (DR) model based on the characteristics of the load duration curve and adds it to the transmission expansion planning (TEP). The load block is used in the model to replace the traditional load duration curve, which greatly reduces the amount of calculation. Demand response considers load shifting and load reduction. Each load aggregator makes corresponding demand response quotations, and finally obtains a response plan through optimization methods. The final programming problem is a mixed integer linear programming problem (MILP). Case study shows that demand response based on load duration curve can significantly adjust power load demand, delay power system investment, and improve system operation reliability and economic and social benefits.
