Onset Characteristics of the Themoacoustic Engine with Cryogenic Cooling

The purpose of this paper is to provide a better understanding of the behavior of a traveling wave thermoacoustic engine with cryogenic cooling in the start-up mode. a mathematical model of the starting process is provided, which is characterized by the transition of the thermoacoustic engine from a nonstationary oscillatory state to a steady one. The presented model allows to determine the parameters during the onset-steady-state transition of the thermoacoustic engine with hot temperature is maintained at 300 K and cold temperature is at the cryogenic temperature level. The proposed model was tested for the conditions of starting a high-temperature engine, the deviation of the simulation results from the experimental values was less than 4.5 %. that demonstrates a good match The results obtained represent an effective approach to the analysis of startup characteristics of low-temperature thermoacoustic engines usable for the energy utilization and electricity production in cryogenic regasification systems.
