A Practical Application of Commercial 3.3KV, 750A SiC Modules

This paper presents a practical cost-effective general-purpose inverter based on commercially available 3.3KV SiC MOSFET modules. Overall inverter performance is benchmarked under a variety of operating conditions against an inverter using similarly rated silicon IGBT modules. Noteworthy semiconductor module characteristics and their impact on the inverter's design, cost, and performance are examined.
