Energy-Aware QoS Based Cluster Routing With Aggregation Management Algorithm in Underwater Wireless Sensor Network

Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSN) has received significant attention for exploring and connecting oceanic sources of interest, and it monitors and collect data in various environmental applications such as pollution monitoring, equipment monitoring, seismic monitoring, and submarine monitoring. Currently, UWSN faces lots of issues such as energy loss, high propagation delay, collisions, and limited distance-dependent bandwidth. Typically, more network models have been employed for the distribution of nodes by routing schemes and methodologies regarding different algorithms, but still, the design of energy-efficient routing protocols is one of the key challenges in the development of the underwater environment. Besides, clustering, aggregation, and Quality of Service (QoS) are important models to reduce energy consumption and transmission loss. Aiming at these concerns, this paper presents an Energy-aware QoS based cluster routing with an aggregation management algorithm (EQoS-CRAM) to provide efficient path discovery with less energy consumption for UWSN. Data aggregation is performed using sleep wake scheduling process from the cluster area to avoid collisions. EQoS-CRAM approach offers priority-based QoS data transmission with less delay. Experimental results depict that the EQoS-CRAM approach achieves a higher packet delivery ratio, less energy consumption, low collision rate, and high network lifetime than existing methods.
