An Analysis of Website Phishing Awareness in Jamaica

Phishing, one of those not so difficult cyber-attacks to prevent, continues to plague society and hampers the performance of organizations. This is mainly because of the users’ high susceptibility to phishing attacks and reluctance to learn. In this paper, we highlight the degree to which Jamaicans are unaware of how to identify website phishing attacks and provide recommendations to reduce their unawareness. We believe through proper and consistent public education; website phishing attacks can be prevented.
