Development of CPW-Fed Dual-Band Conformal Equilateral Square Slot-Ring Antenna Using Organic Jute Textile

A design of coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed equilateral square slot-ring antenna with flexible capabilities are proposed and simulated. The proposed material is Jute Fiber composite as substrate material while for its radiating element, a layer of conductive fabric is used. Due to the material used, its flexible capabilities can adhere to curve surface, conformal and many wearable antenna applications. The proposed design used square shaped slot ring with additional slots to achieve dual band capabilities. Author used two layers of Jute Fiber and a conductive fabric with overall thickness of 1.62mm. The return loss performance comparison between initial square slot-ring antenna (without additional slot) and proposed design (with slots) is presented. All simulation result obtained used CST Microwave Studio simulation tools.
