Research on the Simplified physical arc model of High-voltage Self-blast circuit breakers

Nowadays, Demands and trends in high voltage Self-blast circuit breakers are toward compactness and cost efficiency, so most of GIS designers prefer adequate computer simulation in the design phase in order to achieve compact size together with the performance of products. However, The CFD commercial software takes a considerable amount of time to simulate the arc phenomenon of the High Voltage circuit breaker. A simplified physical arc model was introduced as a way to overcome these issue and it provides possibility to get relatively simple, and easy to use, simulation software for high voltage Self-blast circuit breakers. Such software has been developed and successfully used in development of Self-blast circuit breakers.
