Research on Target Electromagnetic Scattering Characteristics Based on Improved Parabolic Equation Algorithm

The standard parabolic equation(PE) method is an effective way to solve the target scattering problem, but the error of calculation is large in the case of high elevation angles. In order to improve the limitations of the standard parabolic equation algorithm, this paper introduces the Padé-(1,1) polynomial into the parabolic equation algorithm, combining the absorption conditions of the perfectly matched layer (PML) to solve the scattering field distribution of electrically large targets. It is shown that the introduction of Padé-(1,1) polynomial into the standard parabolic equation can more accurately calculate the scattering field distribution of the target. It can solve the problem of electromagnetic scattering within 40 degrees in the axial direction, effectively. At the same time, it also overcomes the shortcomings of the long-time calculation of target electromagnetic scattering by the full-wave method and the high requirements of computer hardware. This improving parabolic equation provides a new idea for the calculation of the scattering field of wide-elevation targets.
