Implementation of SRF Theory to DSTATCOM for Power Quality Improvement

Massive stress on the power supply system has been seen because of the proliferation of nonlinear loads at consumers. Due to this the poor quality of power with load unbalancing, undesirable voltage regulation, harmonic current, high reactive power demand, and unbalanced load has been observed in the three-phase distribution system. Therefore, to resolve these issues, a device called Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) and its control is implemented. For the elimination of current harmonics of a three-phase power supply, a rectified resistive & inductive load is used. MATLAB/Simulink has been used to implement the SRFT control for DSTATCOM. An experimental prototype has been set up using the dSPACE controller to validate the simulation results.
