Design of a compact microstrip Filter-Antenna

A compact microstrip filter-antenna with a center frequency of 5.0GHz and impedance bandwidth of 260MHz is designed. It consists of four cross-coupled half-wave open-loop resonators, a segment of coupled-line and a T-shaped microstrip antenna. T-shaped antenna acts as both radiator and last resonator of the filter. The maximum gain of the filter-antenna is 1.48dB. The design structure is simple and the overall size of the integrated design of the filter and antenna is effectively reduced. Moreover, the filter antenna has good out-of-band suppression and radiation characteristics.
