Research on a New Flat Plate Lightning Three-dimensional Electric Field Sensor

In this paper, we develop a new flat plate lightning three-dimensional (3D) electric field sensor which takes the printed circuit board (PCB) as the shell. The measurement antenna of sensor is integrated with the shell, making its layout more reasonable, structure more stable, light weight and easy to carry. Meanwhile, the sensor is equipped with corresponding waterproof cover and support device to make it suitable for lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) 3D electric field open-air test. The calibration test shows that the sensor has good linearity and small inter pole coupling coefficient.
