IoT based monitoring and Bedsores Prevention System for Bed Ridden Patients

Nowadays, Bedsores is a common problem in immobile patients or persons. These bedsores occur due to the patient lay down in a bed for a long time without any physical movement, which stops the blood flow to some part of the skin. Bedsore in bedridden patients can be controlled and prevented with continuous repositioning of the body for every two hours. This can be performed with an accelerometer sensor by checking the movement of the patient and repositioning the body of the patient at a particular time by considering bed surface temperature. In addition, it is necessary to take care of the patient situation regularly. Hence, the continuous monitoring of bedridden patient can be done using a pulse sensor, ECG sensor, oximeter sensor. Finally, the sensed data can be forwarded to the doctor and to the caretaker to take necessary actions.
