Analysis of Power Swings and Blackouts

The fundamental event of blackout is statically self-governing and can start from the collapse of the large transformer, long transmission line, and large generator. A cas-cading outage of transformers, transmission lines, and generators separates the large area from the rest of the grid. Every time, millions of people are influenced by the extensive blackouts in the world. The blackout influences the economy and security of the country. Major blackouts are few, but the consequence can be catastrophic. Blackout prevention is the need of today's power system. This paper reviews and analyzed the connection between power swings and the most significant blackouts of the world and their cause. By the analysis, the papers manifest the direction of research to nrevent the grid against blackouts.
