Utilization of NDT methods in aircraft maintenance

Currently in the world is the most extended and most used mode of transport is transport by airplane. Non-destructive testing of materials plays an important role in the quality management system. Such testing enables the early detection of inside component defects that could affect its effective use. Different already proven methods based on physical principles are used to evaluate and detect cracks by non-destructive testing. The advantage of non-destructive testing over usual testing is that the component remains unchanged in all respects for further use even after the use of any non-destructive method. Techniques, analysis, necessary equipment, experiments, and advantages of individual non-destructive methods are described in the article from a comparative point of view.
