Authenticated data transfer through cognitive radio with the aid of TRNG

There is shortage of spectrum due to enormous growth in the field of wireless communication. Dynamic spectrum access is one of the most apt solution to overcome the shortage of the spectrum and this could be achieved through cognitive radio. Searching the free spectrum in its environment id one the important function of cognitive radio. This is known as spectrum sensing. Once the spectrum hole is available the cognitive radio can transmit the information to its intended receiver utilizing the free spectrum. Successful communication takes place until the invasion of third party user known as malicious user. The malicious user tends to destroy the data transfer between the cognitive radio and its intended receiver. Hence this work focusses on achieving secure communication between cognitive radio and its receiver with the aid of authentication tag. True Random Number sequences (TRNG) are used as tag. The message with the TRNG sequence is processed by the receiver and the rest are discarded.
