Performance Analysis of Low Powered Battery Management Circuit Using Adiabatic Logic

A lithium ion battery is accompanied by a battery management system to operate the battery efficiently and within safe operation region. We propose an improvised battery management system with low power consumption as compared to the available battery management systems. All the circuits are simulated and parameters are calculated using the PSPICE simulation tool. To achieve lower power consumption, diode free adiabatic logic-based comparator is employed in the charge balancing circuit. The performance parameters of the designed battery management system are same as compared to the available battery management systems. However, due to the incorporation of adiabatic logic technique which uses reversible logic, the power consumption is significantly reduced. The reduced power consumption of the designed battery management system makes it a potential candidate for the power efficient applications.
