Transmission Expansion Planning Considering the Integration of Renewable Energy in the Market Environment

With the further liberalization of the electricity market, price-driven markets are beginning to operate everywhere. At the same time, with the implementation of energy conservation and emission reduction policies, more and more renewable energy sources are incorporated into the power system. As a result, the uncertainty and economic efficiency of the power system has increased significantly, which has a profound impact on the planning and operation of the power system. The traditional planning methods can no longer adapt to the current environment and conditions. In this paper, congestion indicators are proposed to reflect the changes in price signals in the market environment. On this basis, considering the configuration of energy storage and the access of wind power, as well as the influence of price signals, a transmission expansion planning model under the market environment is constructed. The model is validated by using Garver-6 node system. The results show that the model proposed in this paper can adapt to the market environment well, while using the charging and discharging process of energy storage to promote the consumption of wind power and reduce the investment on construction of transmission lines.
