Electronic medical records integration in the UAE utilizing RFID and IOT

The aim of this paper is to suggest a new method for the integration of electronic medical records at a federal level in the UAE, involving all government and private healthcare facilities. The proposed method will also minimize the need for visiting and spending time at the registration desks at healthcare facilities. This work proposes the exploitation of the RFID technology and IOT to capture hospital visitors’ data once they reach the facility’s gate. It proposes to link the visitor’s Emirates ID to their medical records from different healthcare providers, along with the UAE Alhosn App record of PCR test and vaccine status, along with insurance coverage and payment plans.
