Fault observer for morphing aircraft with inaccurate attack angle and pitch rate

The fault observer design of morphing aircraft (MA) is studied with inaccurate angle of attack and pitch rate measurements. A new descriptor observer with robust characteristics is developed to estimate system states and faults. Sufficient conditions for the stability are obtained according to Lyapunov theory, and all signals are proved bounded. Simulations demonstrate the proposed algorithm and the descriptor observer are effective.
