Onboard Capability Assessment and Decision-making Method of Launch Vehicle

The propulsion system failure of launch vehicle during flight will lead to capability degradation or even a crash. To quantitatively indicate the capacity degradation, an onboard capability assessment method based on height constraint in three force balancing state is proposed in this paper. An analytical method of the optimal inclination angle of local acceleration under the quasi-equilibria flight condition and an approach to evaluate velocity increment are put forward to preliminarily estimate the residual flight capability of rocket. Then mathematical simulation shows the capability assessment and control decision can be made in a rapid, simple and reliable way based on the method proposed in this paper, which has advantages of rapid computation speed, strong engineering practicability and provides the theoretical basis for future research of a rapid onboard generation algorithm of trajectory.
